Eva Luna Betelli, actress, aerial acrobat and singer, was born in 1991 in Atessa. She began practicing theater from the age of 10 and attended intensive workshops with Italian and international masters including Roberto Magro, Cesar Brie, Firenza Guidi, Piergiorgio Milano, Yaelle Antoine, Johnny Torres, Ines Lorca, Francesco Sgrò. In 2014 she graduated in philosophy from Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna: after graduation, her major interest is in translating philosophical questions into corporeality.
Captivated by the expressive possibility of circus disciplines, since 2014 she has been following a two-year professional training as a contemporary circus artist at the FLIC school in Turin, specializing in horizontal aerial tools (fixed trapeze and hoop). In 2017 she continued her studies in physical theater with director Firenza Guidi, and in 2018 she deepened her study of fixed trapeze with Zoé Maistre, in Paris. Since 2017 she also matures several work experiences as a circus actress: in Italy, with Firenza Guidi; in France (Cirque Electrique), Germany (Tasifan Circus and Katapult) and in Spain (CCCB, Festival Escena Poblenou, la Central del Circ).
Her research explores a hybrid language that blends dance, theater, circus discipline and voice. In 2019 she is a physical assistant to Cesar Brie in a continuing education in physical theater. In 2022 she is actress and director of Hermanas, a show that explores the female universe inspired by the novel “Antigua, vita mia” by Marcela Serrano. Together with director Mariasole Brusa, she is performer and author of Zoom: polysemy of an ordinary day, which reached the semifinals of the 2023 Scenario Award. In 2022 she worked as a performer in the show The Schwartzschild Singularity, in which narrative theater joins circus art through Csaba Antal’s experimental set design (directed by Giacomo Pedini for Mittelfest). In 2023 she won the best female artist award of the Mittelfest 2022 festival. She is currently collaborating on the new Collectif Acrocinus (Lausanne – CH) show that explores Rodel Tapaya’s painting through movement theater and expressive circus.
