Federico Costanza

Project manager Italy

Federico Costanza is a cultural designer and manager. He deals with fundraising and strategic management in the museum and performing arts sectors.

Sicilian by birth, Federico studied at the University of Bologna under the guidance of mentors such as philosopher Pier Cesare Bori and Africanist Anna Maria Gentili. Years in which he cultivated his greatest interests in diversity and international dialogue between cultures.

He has acquired many years of experience in managing cultural institutions in different and dynamic contexts.

He collaborated for several years with the Orestiadi Foundation and Festival of Gibellina, reaching the point of directing its headquarters in Tunis during the years of the transition from the Ben Ali dictatorship to the post-Arab Spring era, collaborating with the main national and international institutions, embassies and cultural institutes present in Tunisia and North Africa.

Through the cultural center of Dar Bach Hamba, home of the Orestiadi in the Medina of Tunis, he promoted numerous initiatives, supporting the Tunisian and Arab artistic avant-gardes and the post-revolution underground culture.

He supported the birth of artistic collectives such as Atelier D, one of the first independent experimental theatre initiatives in post-dictatorship Tunisia, and collaborated in the organization of important artistic events, including the Biennale of Contemporary Art “Dream City” in Tunis in 2010 and 2012.

He subsequently continued to cultivate his passion for contemporary art by working for Marino and Paola Golinelli, collectors and philanthropists, in the management of their art collection and philanthropic activities.

His current interest is to deepen the relationship between cultural diversity and philanthropic action, with a particular attention to the internal debate in the artistic and cultural world in the Mediterranean area and in Arab societies.
