G. Re (Milan, 1998), studied fine arts at both the Liceo Artistico di Brera and the Accademia di Brera (sculpture). Growing up, she pursued his interest in movement, devoting himself professionally to circus arts and movement. She moves between Barcelona, Porto and Milan. She began to study contemporary dance and Butoh, her main practices nowadays. She is developing her own project BROTE DIGITAL. The artistic discourse she proposes sees performance as a bridge by which, offering the dimensions of space and time, the audience is invited to awaken connotations dormant in a fast life, such as the capacity for emotion and the development of thought. The rediscovery of such connotations is facilitated by the sharing of universal and everyday themes and questions (the last works have seen silence, difficulty of growing up, concept of home, development of identity and awareness, insomnia, body with and in space as main themes). G. confronts them and communicates not a solution to these questions, but one of the many possible answers to them. First, primordial and imperative characters of her artistic discourse are truth and purity that can be found in the choice of themes and in the aesthetic dimension that binds each work: in the gaze, in communication, in movement, in sharing.
The apparent simplicity of sculptural imagery (harking back to her background in fine arts), the thoughtful movement adhering to the analysis of the theme, combined with the essentiality of scenography and design of light, sound and costumes, are choices made by the artist moved once again by a yearning for closeness with the audience, for truth, purity.
