Ilaria Stefani (Forlì, 1990) is a PhD graduate in Linguistic, Philological and Literary Studies at the University of Padua. She works on ultra-contemporary Latin American literature and art. Her research, which intersects literary criticism and cultural studies, has allowed her to deepen her knowledge of postcolonial studies and later specialise in Latin American decolonial theories, with a focus on indigenous thought and the ontological turn in the social sciences.
She lived in Quito (Ecuador), where she taught in a bilingual indigenous (Kichwa/Spanish) intercultural school, exploring alternative pedagogy practices. Passionate about visual and performance art, over the last ten years she has participated in workshops and courses in theatre, vocal technique, contemporary dance and audio description conducted by national and international professionals and companies.
