The Centre Culturel Régional de Dakar Blaise Senghor is a decentralised service of the Ministry of Culture, open to the cities, towns and districts of the region. It is the basic cultural service for the inhabitants and residents of the Dakar region.
As part of its prerogatives, the Centre offers support and advice to local associations and groups, technical services, and various training courses. It hosts performances, offers workshops, public training courses and exhibitions.
The Dakar Cultural Centre is also a permanent venue for voluntary initiatives as part of the cultural agenda of the region whose development it promotes, in cooperation with the local authorities, which it seeks to make culturally attractive and value-bearing for its citizens. The centre has a 250-seat theatre inside.
