The Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo is the official cultural institution of the Italian State in Cairo, part of the global network of Italian Cultural Institutes promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Its primary role is to promote the Italian language, culture, and arts in Egypt, fostering cultural and scientific dialogue between Italy and Egypt, and increasing awareness of contemporary Italy and its historical and artistic heritage.
Located in the Zamalek neighborhood, in a historic European architectural building, the Institute organizes a rich program of cultural events, including exhibitions, concerts, film screenings, conferences, festivals, and public meetings with Italian and local artists, intellectuals, and scholars.
The Institute also offers Italian language courses for all levels, preparation, and certifications such as the CELI (Certificate of Knowledge of the Italian Language), as well as library services, cultural information, documentation on Italian cultural life, and support for students and researchers.
It is also an integral part of the Italian Archaeological Center, which promotes archaeological projects and research in Egypt, and collaborates with Egyptian cultural institutions to develop shared cultural cooperation activities and paths.
