Masakini Theater company – StudioRamli Hassan was founded in 2003 by director Sabera Shaik who has been in the theater industry for more than 40 years.
The theater company is well known for its original and critically acclaimed plays. He has traveled all over the world to perform or lecture: London, Holstebro, Kuala Lumpur, Tehran, Grahamstown, Brasilia, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Jaipur, Cairns. Masakini Theater also works closely and in collaboration with Odin Teatret in Denmark.
In recent years she has made herself known in Malaysia and abroad with her modern version of WAYANGKULIT, a reworking of traditional shadow puppetry. The Masakini Theater Company directs STUDIORAMLI HASSAN and conducts workshops and training at this venue. It is also a laboratory for young artists eager to experiment and learn new techniques.
