A borderland is a vague and undetermined place created by the emotional residue of an unnatural boundary. It is in a constant state of transition.
Gloria Anzaldúa
Confini is the result of an artistic investigation on the topic of “borders”, developed by Instabili Vagant involving young local dancers, performers and choreographers from all over the world. Distance, remoteness, absence, powerlessness in the face of an impassable limit are the feelings that move the performers’ bodies in space, triggering a dance that balances on those thin and invisible lines that separate us and that we call “borders” and “boundaries”. A performance that, in the end, results in a releasing and cathartic dance that involves the audience. Just like a ritual that finds its natural completion in the rediscovered union of bodies, in that very moment and space – although ephemeral – the encounter allows the overcoming of the limits.
A creation that involves actors and dancers from Italy, India, and Tunisia, and Nicola Pianzola, playwright of Instabili Vaganti. The direction is by Anna Dora Dorno.
