Born in 1993, Moayed Ghazouani (also know name Moody) is a Tunisian performer who graduated from the Higher Institute of Music and Theater in Kef and is a researcher at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Tunis. Moayed’s research interests include total art and physical theatre.
As a performer and dancer, he has participated in numerous projects with Tunisian artists such as Fethi Akkari, Sami Nasri, Monem Chouayet, Cyrine Ganoun, Damien Acoca, Alia Sallami, Saloua Ben Saleh, and others, as well as international artists such as Anna Dora Dorno and Nicolas Pianzola from Italy in the context of voice and body research labs between 2013 and 2015. He then collaborated with Instabili Vaganti in 24-hour non-stop theater at CADS Le Kef in March 2022 in Beyond Borders project.
Since 2016, he has received extensive dance training with tunisian choreographer and dancer Nawel Skandrani. He has also participated in workshops and residencies with David Brown in contemporary dance, Eugénie Andrin in classical dance, collaborated with the American company Keigwin + Company, and taken an acting course at the Arab-African Center at the El Hamra Theater.
In 2018-2019, Moayed danced in the multidisciplinary creation Ré-Existence choreographed by Nawel Skandrani and participated in the Ré-Ex project under her pedagogical direction as a theater and voice coach in the regions of Tunisia. Then in 2022, he danced in the creation entitled Black and White Circus with the same choreographer.
In January 2022, Moayed created Rouheb or “Why they are afraid of us”, his first experimental physical theater production produced by CADS Jendouba.
Meanwhile, Moayed has taught dance and physical theater at ISMT Kef and for young amateur and pre-professional actors who wish to deepen their actor’s work at CADS Jendouba. Currently, he is giving theater and movement classes at the Theater Lab founded by the Tunis Opera Theater.
